In separate messages on Saturday, the Leader expressed his condolences for the passing of Islamic scholar Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Sadeqi Tehrani and Hojjatoleslam Sheikh Javad Hasanali, who was the Friday Prayers leader in the central Iranian city of Taft.
Grand Ayatollah Sadeqi Tehrani was a renowned Islamic scholar, who had published numerous books on the interpretation of Qur'an and the Shia faith. He died on March 21, 2011 at the age of 85.
Hojjatoleslam Hasanali, who was the Friday prayers leader in Taft for 32 years, died on March 23, 2011 at the age of 90.
